Prof. Huang received his doctor degree from Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2000. After accomplishing his postdoctoral research in National University of Singapore, he was hired as a Research Scientist of Oncology Research Institute, National University of Singapore in 2003. He returned to China in 2005 and worked as a Professor of the State Key Lab of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University. In 2017, he was appointed as the dean of West China School of Basic Medical Sciences & Forensic Medicine, Sichuan University.

In 2012, Prof. Huang won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China, and took up the post of the Chief Scientist for National 973 Program entitled “Proteomics Profiling of the Redoxomes Associated with Virus-induced Carcinogenesis” in 2013. Next year, he was hired as the Chang Jiang Scholars Program Endowed Professor. In addition, he was appointed the committee member of the Proteomics Division of the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the Metabolism Division of the Chinese Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, the executive member of the first council of the Chinese Union of Translational Medicine, and the committee member of the Tumor Metastasis Division of the Chinese Anticancer Association. Besides, He is also an editorial board member of Proteomics and Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy.

Since he returned China, Prof. Huang has published over 70 SCI papers that have been cited over 1400 times, including Mol Cell Proteomics (5 papers), Gastroenterology, Cancer Res (3 papers,including cover article in 2013), Nat Microbiol, Autophagy (5 papers), Cell Death Differ, PLoS Pathog, J Cell Sci, J Infect Dis, Carcinogenesis, et al. He was also invited to publish a series of reviews about systems biology for many international academic journals including Mass Spectrom Rev, Med Res Rev, Expert Rev Proteomics.
